Ministries at Church of the Advent

At Church of the Advent, ministry is how we live out our mission of being “a community connected in Christ for all the moments that matter.” Whether it’s preparing sacred spaces, walking alongside those experiencing grief, or supporting one another in service, our ministries provide meaningful ways to grow in faith and fellowship.

Altar Guild Ministry

The Altar Guild plays a sacred role in the life of our church, preparing the sanctuary for worship and celebration of the Eucharist. These dedicated volunteers care for the altar linens, vessels, and sacred items, ensuring everything is in reverent order before each service.

This ministry is a quiet but powerful expression of devotion and care—an opportunity to serve behind the scenes in a deeply spiritual way.

Sisterhood Together in Loss

Grief Support Group for Widows and the Bereaved

Our Sisterhood Together in Loss grief support group meets monthly to provide a safe and supportive space for women experiencing the loss of a loved one. As part of our mission to support one another during life’s most difficult moments, this group gathers on the third Saturday of every month for:

  • Guided conversation
  • Shared lunch
  • Spiritual and emotional resources
  • Occasional healing outings

This group is a meaningful space for connection, healing, and hope.
